Step into a Happy New Year with a Happy New You
Oh the weather outside is frightful, but exercising indoors is so delightful, and since we’ve got no place to go, let us run the stairs to step it up this new year. Here is another song changed up for you, do you recognize this song? Climb every mountain; let us work the core, to work the body strong, till you find your dream. Yes, it is necessary to change “things” up to get new results, and then build on the “change” to get new strength. With that happy tune in our mind let us step into a New Year with a happy new you.
The Mountain Climber/Straddle Plank is the exercise to help step it up with change.
Begin in push up position, with hand placement aligned with shoulders. Hold body in plank position with head in alignment with spine (to keep head level and prevent dropping of head – look at mat straight below), feet are shoulder width with balls of feet ready on floor. Alternate legs in a running format at an even pace for a set of repetitions, change feet movement at an even pace to straddle open (jump feet wider than shoulder width) to straddle close (jump feet to shoulder width) for a set of repetitions. Repeat.
The New Year “pretty must be” fit tip is to change it up, and keep the muscles changing to improve tone and increase strength. Example: change the order of exercises during your pretty workout or add new exercises to your pretty workout. New exercises plus new order of exercises equals a Happy New Year and a Happy New You!
